Inside the tightly coordinated nationwide roadshow that introduced the new NZME brand across multiple locations, audiences and back-to-back events in one critical week.

A nationwide rebrand does not launch in one room. It has to arrive with the same clarity, energy and confidence wherever people experience it – even when several events are moving at once, and the schedule leaves almost no margin for inconsistency.
That was the task for NZME. After integrating multiple businesses into one unified platform, the organisation needed to introduce a new brand to internal teams, media, and trade stakeholders across New Zealand. The roadshow would run across multiple sites inside one compressed week, with events delivered concurrently and back-to-back.
This was not simply a sequence of presentations. It was a high-visibility brand moment with many audiences, locations, suppliers, communications and technical details moving in parallel. Every event needed to feel locally considered while unmistakably belonging to the same launch.
| When a brand launch is happening everywhere at once, consistency cannot depend on luck. It has to be designed into the delivery. |
The brief: unite the business behind one new brand
NZME was bringing previously separate businesses together under a single, forward-looking brand platform. The roadshow needed to do more than announce a new identity. It needed to help people understand what the new organisation represented, how the businesses connected and where the brand was going next.
The audience was broad. Internal teams needed alignment and a sense of connection. Media and trade stakeholders needed a clear understanding of the new brand and its offering. Each group came with different questions, but the experience needed to leave everyone with the same central message.
The objective was therefore both practical and human: inform people, engage them, and build confidence in the organisation’s direction.
The real complexity was behind the scenes
A one-week, multi-location roadshow concentrates months of planning into a short, visible delivery window. Venues must be ready. Presentations and technology must work. Registration information must be accurate. Communications must reach the right people at the right time. Suppliers must understand not only their own task, but how it connects with every other moving part.
When events run concurrently or turn around back-to-back, one delay can travel quickly through the program. The client should not have to become the control room, and guests should never feel the pressure behind the schedule.
Agent 86’s role was to hold the whole system together: one central plan, one standard of delivery, and enough control to maintain consistency across every location while adapting intelligently to each venue and audience.
One experience, tailored to every location
Agent 86 developed and delivered a tightly coordinated roadshow designed around NZME’s new digital positioning. Each event used tailored presentation environments and supporting technology to create a modern, cohesive brand experience.
Consistency did not mean making every room identical. It meant protecting the essential elements – the message, brand presentation, guest journey, and standard of execution – while configuring the experience to work properly in each setting.
That distinction matters. A roadshow should feel like one confident national campaign, not a template forced into a series of different venues. The strongest delivery systems preserve what must remain consistent and give the team room to solve what is local.
A centralised guest journey
The audience experience began before anyone arrived. Agent 86 used a centralised registration and communications platform to manage attendees across multiple stakeholder groups.
This created a reliable source of information across the roadshow and supported efficient communication as the program moved between locations. For guests, it meant a clear and coherent journey. For the client, it meant better oversight of attendance and fewer disconnected systems to manage during an already demanding week.
Technology was not included for its own sake. It supported confidence: the right people received the right information for the right event.
Professionalism is what keeps complexity invisible
Large, fast-moving events are not protected by one impressive creative idea. They are protected by detail, decision-making and disciplined coordination.
For this roadshow, Agent 86 was managing the relationship between the national brand story and many live delivery environments. That required creative interpretation, production control, stakeholder communication, technical coordination and the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving without lowering the standard.
The client needed one experienced partner who could see the complete picture, anticipate dependencies, and remain composed while the schedule moved at speed. That is the professionalism a critical roadshow demands: not simply responding when something changes, but building enough control into the process that the experience stays confident from the first location to the last.

The result: clarity, connection and momentum
The nationwide rollout achieved strong engagement across both internal and external audiences.
Teams from previously separate businesses were brought together, supporting alignment and connection around the new organisation. Media and trade stakeholders left with a clear understanding of the NZME brand and its offering. Across the week, the roadshow generated positive momentum for the launch and reinforced confidence in the organisation’s direction.
Just as importantly, the experience remained consistent across regions despite the compressed schedule and multi-location complexity. The brand did not become diluted as the roadshow travelled. It arrived as one coherent story.
What clients should expect from a roadshow partner
A roadshow is often one of the most exposed event formats a business can commission. It puts the same strategy, message and brand promise in front of multiple audiences, in multiple places, over and over again. That repetition creates opportunity, but it also magnifies inconsistency.
The right partner needs to combine creative thinking with operational discipline. They need to understand the business reason for the roadshow, build a format that can travel, control the guest journey, coordinate suppliers and technology, and protect the quality of delivery even when several events are live at once.
Above all, they need to give the client confidence that the important details are being handled – not only at the flagship moment, but at every location.
One week can shape how a new brand is understood
NZME’s roadshow demonstrates what is possible when national consistency and local delivery are planned as one system.
The result was more than a series of launch events. It was a coordinated introduction to a new organisation: one that helped teams connect, gave external stakeholders clarity and carried the same confidence across the country.
For Agent 86, that is the job. Make the complex manageable. Make every location feel intentional. And make sure the client can focus on the significance of the moment, knowing the experience around it is in capable hands.
